On the 9th January 2014, The Royal Marine Detachment on board HMS Protector took advantage to the mountainous landscape to conduct some mountaineering training amongst the peaks of Grytviken. The detachment conquered Orka Peak and transited on to Hodges Peak that stood at 633 metres above sea level. The training was a refresher for the detachment and will prepare them for their Glacier Training which they will be undertaking in Antarctica in the next work period.
